COWS FOR LEADERS!
The Cows for Leaders Project with Harvest Missions in India has completed the first phase of funding of 15 cows. This was possible through a significant contribution from Harvest Missions fellowships and contributions from LION-USA.
Quoting from their official partnership proposal, "The project will enable ministry families to generate sustainable income, improve nutrition, and continue serving the communities effectively with dignity and hope."
Each cow supports a pastor of a small congregation in a rural area. It will provide them with a sustainable year-round income. Many of these pastors have to leave their families and churches to go where they can find work between planting and harvesting the crops. A milk cow will give them enough income to stay home and do the work of a pastor and family man.
The India team is working hard to gather the matching funds needed for an additional 15 cows for the second phase. Our goal–-the Lord willing--is to complete the project by the end of the year!
