All over the world, Christians mark today, November 3, 2019 as a day to pray for persecuted Christians.
By “persecuted Christians,” we mean any person who is harassed or attacked for the simply reason that they identify as being a Christian. This happens in so many different ways. In 2019 alone, Christians have been beaten, tortured, confined or jailed, isolated, raped, punished without explanation, imprisoned, enslaved, and suffered discrimination in education and employment.
Open Doors‘ current research suggests that more than 245 million Christians are under persecution today — 1 out of every 9 Christians in the world. Do you know any of them by name? Have you, your family, or your church thought about them or prayed for them recently?
L.I.O.N. Outreach International – the Leadership In Obscurity Network – serves many Christian leaders in Southeast Asia and Africa who are themselves, or the people they serve, currently under persecution. Our mission is to Encourage, Equip, Empower, and Engage with these leaders, especially those who are under persecution.
Will you join us today & many of our partner organizations to pray for persecuted Christians around the world?
Would you also take just a moment to send our persecuted brothers & sisters in India a personal note of encouragement? We will pass them on directly to one of our leaders in obscurity serving in the face of persecution.
